Something's Blooming in the Library

Springhill Jr./Sr. High School students found some literary roses blooming in the library at lunch today. Students used the pages from an old book on it's way to the recycle bin and let it blossom into new life.

We made roses for Mother's Day or someone special in our lives.

Just as in real life, one rose wasn't enough so tomorrow, we'll be back in the garden and we're going to add some sparkles and dew.

If you would like to make a rose or two, we'll be starting at 12:10 Wednesday, in the library.

You are welcome to bring your lunch.

And, we have sparkles.

And the Nominees Are...

The CCRSB Teen Reader’s Choice Award is back in action for its sixth year!

The award program, facilitated by CCRSB Library Services, invites students in grades 7 to 12 to read at least one book from the Top 10 and then to vote for their favourite to be crowned the winner.

Students are encouraged to read one or more of the Top 10 books chosen by CCRSB Library Services staff between March 21st and June 2nd, and to discuss the book(s) in school and online.

The Teen Reader’s Choice Award is a program unique to CCRSB and an exciting opportunity for grades 7-12 students to read some truly exceptional books!

The information is also available on the CCRSB website at http://www.ccrsb.ca/teen-readers-choice-award.

Check out your school library for a full book display and the opportunity to borrow a nominee. If a book you want to read is checked out, you can be put on a wait list to read it or you can try borrowing at your local public library.
